Dr. J. Stephen Shymansky attended West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia and completed his residency in Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

His board Certifications include the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Society of Neuroimaging.  

In the past 34 years, he has been providing neurologic care in the Pittsburgh area with special interest in  Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, Seizures, Headache and Neuropathy.

Physician's Assistant

Allyson “Ally” Zella, PA-C joined Associates in Neurology of Pittsburgh in 2014. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh and received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham University in 2005.  Prior to joining Associates in Neurology of Pittsburgh, Ally had worked in the field of neurology for six years.

She works in collaboration with Dr. Shymansky to evaluate and treat patients for a variety of neurological conditions. Her areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Migraines, Epilepsy, Neuropathy related conditions and Botox injections for a variety of medical conditions.

Ally has a passion for neurology and is a strong advocate for her patients. She educates patients to help them understand their conditions and treatment regimens.

She is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Physician's Assistant

Michael Tometsko received a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in 2005.  Prior to becoming a physician assistant Michael worked at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Institute where he was involved in head and neck cancer research.  He has worked in the field of neurology since 2005 when he began working with Dr Shymansky.  Michael’s area of interests include multiple sclerosis, dementia, migraines, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s disease.
